FAQs

What kind of wax do you use?

Currently natural soy wax is all we use.  If we do venture into using different type of wax, it will be listed on each product.

After the first few burns, why my candle is leaving some wax on the side of the container.

This is normal and is called "Hang Up".  As the melt pools are slower to form in the first two or three burn cycle. But it should melt down with future burns, usually after fourth-fifth burns.

Why does my candle wick have a black "mushroom shape" after burning?

This is a carbon buildup from burning off the wick and is common in scented candles as the fragrance oil travel up the wick while it burns.  Therefore, remember to trim your wick to 1/4 inch tall before every burn.

My candle look like it is frosting, Did it go bad??

Frosting is when a white-ish chalky coating that forms on the sides and tops of your soy candles.   Frosting is natural and is very common when the room temperature is slightly cool. This is an unattractive aesthetic character of natural soy wax but it has no bearing on how your candle burns and smells. All soy waxes frost, and it is a sign that we are using 100% natural soy wax.

Why is my soy candle bumpy after burning?

The bumpy tops after burning are common with soy wax (unattractive aesthetic character of natural soy wax). This happens when the cooling temperature of the wax is inconsistent.  You will notice that sometimes it will dry with the rough, uneven surface and sometimes it will dry smooth as glass.  Overall it does not affect the performance of the candle.
